Touring on a Savage

Ok,trying to get some of "the edge" back...
Is there anybody out there who has done some really long hauls on his/her big thumper ? Anybody who has done the Ironbutt on a Savage ? I am planning for a trip through Scandinavia next summer, and could definitely do with some good advice. The long trips I used to do before were all done by dogsled or sea kayak, you see..
